AAARGH!

Blogger and I are not getting along. I've initiated a trial separation, and I think divorce may be on the horizon. I've always been a wee bit frustrated with Blogger - I've had trouble formatting from time to time, I've noticed that other people using other services can reply to comments, etc. etc. The real thing that annoyed me was when I noticed that sometimes when I updated my blog, if you opened it with Internet Explorer, links to previous posts, the blog roll, etc. were all missing. It was all there in Firefox ...but in Explorer, it was like a bare bones version of my blog. Why oh why should that be? I just think that's silly. Then today, I noticed that the video I put up...well, it was fine at first. Then today it was as though it was trying to show the video in full-screen mode in just the small screen. So, I'm setting up shop elsewhere. I'll let you know when that is complete. For now, I'll still be here.

A Busy Weekend

Image
D and I had a busy weekend, as we did last weekend, and as we will the next few weekends. Now I am relaxing with the blog and Nutella covered bread. Yum! Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to head to the Goodwill store and volunteer as part of the St. Olaf National Day of Service . The Goodwill is a busy, busy place. After hanging up women's clothes for three hours, I just wanted to get out of there. We headed over to Manny's Tortas in the Midtown Global Market on Lake Street where I had the best sandwich ever. A few steps away and I had almost the best cupcake ever at the Salty Tart . All this goodness, a fight with the parking vending machine, and it was still only 2:00. Plenty of time to get three loads of laundry done and meet friends at the Liffy in St. Paul for the second best sandwich ever. And some Jameson and ginger ale for dessert. This morning, we headed over the Lake Calhoun for the Oy Vey 5k (if you go to the link, you can click on a lin

Spring/Summer Knitting Queue

I decided before I made plans for a Spring/Summer Knitting Queue, I should check on my Fall/Winter Knitting Queue to see how I did. The answer: I barely had a Fall/Winter Knitting Queue. The Fall/Winter Knitting Queue seems to have consisted of 4 projects. Considering two are done, that's pathetic. I should say, I did knit other things, just not things I had planned to knit. Here's a round-up: Octopus - Totally abandoned. Maybe I'll try to finish this. For now, it's just a big blob of light green stockinette stitch. Socktoberfest Mystery Socks - Completed! Woo-hoo! Josephine Hat for Baby - Completed! Woo-hoo! Gloria Cowl using leftover Manos del Uruguay - abandoned. I might try something different. Over the past few months, I have completed some other things as well. Stripey Socks. Lombard Street Socks. One rpm sock. A striped baby hat. Finished the Ribby Cardi. Finished Kathy's socks. And an odd looking pair of mittens. When I type it all out like t

Decisions, Decisions

While in Ireland, I bought 4 skeins of this. Now I need to decide what to do with it. According to the information on Ravelry , 4 skeins is approximately 1400 yards. I've got two patterns I am mulling over. The first is the February Lady Sweater . I heard this mentioned on the brief bit of Lime & Violet podcast I listened too and then found it on Ravelry . I love it! I've looked over the pattern and I should have plenty of yarn. Looks like a fun project and I like cardigans. I think it's lovely. The other idea I have is for Green Day , a little sweater vest. Looks pretty cute. Yarn supply would not be an issue at all. I could make one for my sister too! Then we'd look like twins. Wait! We ARE twins! There is also Talia . I'm not so sure about this, but it is a possibility. I just don't really care for the horizontal garter stitch or whatever it is around the middle. Any thoughts from those of you out there? Or do you have other suggestions
