Last Weekend


Last weekend, my sister, David and I got up bright and early to run in the Water Fest 5K around Lake Phalen. It looked like it was a beautiful day, but it was actually quite cold and windy.

Despite this, there was a giant ice cream cone running around.

Some folks from the Raptor Center were there as well with an owl, hawk and a bald eagle. So cool.


Afterwards, I went home with Gigi where where I got to meet the Little Guy's robot collection.


Last Sunday I spent a good part of my day watching my nephews hang out on the hammock at my mom's. There were plenty of feet and arms and heads all over the place.

So, I think I may have fixed the problem with my blog, but it involved deleting my posts from a few days back. I did some roaming in Blogger Help and found someone with a similar problem. My problem is that in Internet Explorer, the side bar of the blog was blank - no archives, Blog roll, etc. Firefox was fine.

So, all someone told this person was that you no longer can compose your text in a Word document and cut and paste it to Blogger. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but when I deleted the two posts that I had composed as a Word doc, all was fine.

So, I'll spend the weekend playing around and experimenting. So, there may be posts that appear and dissapear just as quickly.

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I figured, "Well, if the Republicans won't eat there, I WILL!" After work we headed to Cosetta's . As you can see...definite lack of Republicans. They were all outside on the street. I have to say, in my Ravelry t-shirt and Chacos, I felt a little out of place. This is as close as we could get to the Excel Energy Center. It looks like the city is on lockdown. While we were just standing around, Sean Hannity passed right by us. I've never watched a day of Fox News in my life, so I would not have known this if someone nearby had not pointed him out. I have entered the blogosphere!

Well, after thinking about starting a blog for several years now, I've finally done it. Bear with me as I get the hang of it. This will mostly be a knitting blog...which I guess means I'll need to knit a lot. No problem there. Why the name, "Knitting in Transit"? Because "Knitting on the Bus" was taken. I'm sure this is only being read by family and friends, and you all know I don't own a car and get around to and fro on the bus. Where I do a lot of knitting. Expect that I may also regale you with my tales of riding the bus. Well, I can't very well have a knitting blog without a picture of something I knit, so here you go. My latest FO...Dad's Sweater. Anti-Valentine's Day

I'm not wild about Valentine's Day. Why designate one day of the year to show people you love them? Why not just do that everyday? D and I have never really done anything special for Valentine's Day. I can't even remember if we saw each other last year on Valentine's Day! This year, I want to do have an Anti-Valentine's Day. I want to spend the day with D, but do things that are the opposite of what you might do on Valentine's Day. So far, the only thing I have come up with is watching a horror movie. Since neither of us like horror movies, we probably won't do that, but I am looking for things in that spirit. Please help me. Leave any ideas you might have in comments. If you leave an idea and we do that, you'll get a special treat. Probably chocolate. Or Gummy Bears if you prefer that sort of thing.
