It's a pillow...it's a...I can't think of what else it could be

A long time ago, in a land far, far away (southwest Minneapolis), I took an intarsia knitting class. Here is what I started (and did not finish):

It's made out of Rowan Felted Tweed. In the class, we just got a chart to work from, not a pattern for anything specific. I always planned to turn this into a pillow when I was done. Maybe someday I'll get around to that.
Once I have posted pics of all my UFOs, I plan to make a survey and you (my loyal readership) can vote on which project I should finish first!

I love the intarsia piece and think it would make a lovely pillow, or tote bag. What fiber were you using? I think it would look great felted also, if you were using a feltable fiber.

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I Need a New Word for "Perfect"

I just spent what can only be described as quite possibly one of the most perfect weekends of my life, thus far. I'm racking my brain trying to think of a weekend that has felt more "right" and I just can't. I think this was one of those rare life moments where everything comes together to create contentment. A perfect blend of good food, friendly strangers, physical and mental activity, and a person to travel with that makes you happy. David and I spent the weekend in Lanesboro, MN and thereabouts. We loaded up our bikes, and in my case, way too much other stuff and headed out of town. How is it that I can pack so light for a 10 day trip to Ireland, but when I head 2 hours south, I pack as though I am leaving home for an indefinite period of time?
