Ooh! A snake!

Wednesday, D and I headed to the Timberwolves season opener. The Wolves won, which made us both very happy.

On the way, we stopped at the plaza outside the Federal Courthouse in Minneapolis. They have a very unique courthouse plaza, with some very fun art. I couldn't' find anything online about the artist. I just think they are too, too cute!
I've seen these little guys in passing while on the bus, but this was the first time I was able to see them up close and join them.

A few of them are mowing the mounds of grass.

Happy New Year!

I thought it was about time I posted...something. Anything. I do hope to try and blog more in the New Year. If anything, at least I'll finally finish up blogging about our trip to Italy. Here is a sneak peak: We went to Pisa. We spent one last day in Florence. We headed home. We had a horrible experience at the Amsterdam airport (is there any other kind of experience there? People say it's so great, but every time I've been there, the lines to get through security have been interminable). We had a nice experience at the Yotel in the Amsterdam airport (if you have a long layover there and are just sick and don't want to venture into town, this is a good alternative). We made it home. I also hope to post at some point about my marathon experience! Yes, I did it! I completed the Twin Cities Marathon. 5:26...more details to come. I am also knitting my husband a sweater. Really all that is left to do is the finishing. Which includes a zipper, so we'll see how that go...

I have entered the blogosphere!

Well, after thinking about starting a blog for several years now, I've finally done it. Bear with me as I get the hang of it. This will mostly be a knitting blog...which I guess means I'll need to knit a lot. No problem there. Why the name, "Knitting in Transit"? Because "Knitting on the Bus" was taken. I'm sure this is only being read by family and friends, and you all know I don't own a car and get around to and fro on the bus. Where I do a lot of knitting. Expect that I may also regale you with my tales of riding the bus. Well, I can't very well have a knitting blog without a picture of something I knit, so here you go. My latest FO...Dad's Sweater. Report from the RNC

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I figured, "Well, if the Republicans won't eat there, I WILL!" After work we headed to Cosetta's . As you can see...definite lack of Republicans. They were all outside on the street. I have to say, in my Ravelry t-shirt and Chacos, I felt a little out of place. This is as close as we could get to the Excel Energy Center. It looks like the city is on lockdown. While we were just standing around, Sean Hannity passed right by us. I've never watched a day of Fox News in my life, so I would not have known this if someone nearby had not pointed him out.
