Happy New Year!

I thought it was about time I posted...something. Anything. I do hope to try and blog more in the New Year. If anything, at least I'll finally finish up blogging about our trip to Italy. Here is a sneak peak: We went to Pisa. We spent one last day in Florence. We headed home. We had a horrible experience at the Amsterdam airport (is there any other kind of experience there? People say it's so great, but every time I've been there, the lines to get through security have been interminable). We had a nice experience at the Yotel in the Amsterdam airport (if you have a long layover there and are just sick and don't want to venture into town, this is a good alternative). We made it home. I also hope to post at some point about my marathon experience! Yes, I did it! I completed the Twin Cities Marathon. 5:26...more details to come. I am also knitting my husband a sweater. Really all that is left to do is the finishing. Which includes a zipper, so we'll see how that go...

I have entered the blogosphere!

Well, after thinking about starting a blog for several years now, I've finally done it. Bear with me as I get the hang of it. This will mostly be a knitting blog...which I guess means I'll need to knit a lot. No problem there. Why the name, "Knitting in Transit"? Because "Knitting on the Bus" was taken. I'm sure this is only being read by family and friends, and you all know I don't own a car and get around to and fro on the bus. Where I do a lot of knitting. Expect that I may also regale you with my tales of riding the bus. Well, I can't very well have a knitting blog without a picture of something I knit, so here you go. My latest FO...Dad's Sweater. Saving the World...One Sock at a Time!

Well, here they are! My "Sock Savior" socks. This summer, I participated in Sockapalooza 4 . Over 1,000 knitters in 26 different countries participated , knitting socks for strangers and receiving some knitted goodness in return. I received some beautiful socks from Tanya , and Linda was the recipient of my first pair of Sockapalooza socks. Unfortunately, not everyone held up their end of the bargain, and some knitters found themselves waiting...and waiting...and waiting...for socks that never showed. These knitters needed "sock saviors" and I answered the call! Details: Baby Cable Rib from Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch , done toe-up with the round toe. Yarn: Fleece Artist Merino 2/6 I LOVE the yarn! The socks worry me a bit. As I did with my first pair of Sockapalooza socks, they are a bit too long. Not only that, but one is longer than the other. Where did I go wrong? Do I need a new tape measure? Well, I had a lot of trouble getting started ...
