Monday, Monday

So, my other brother has started a blog. Look familiar? MOM!!!! He's copying me!

I had a great weekend visiting with my family. I'll post about it as soon as I have photos to share. I'm just waiting for my step-mom to upload her pics to the interweb and then I'll tell you all about it. I only took a few photos with my cellphone camera.

There were some fun times...including shucking corn with my grandpa, who is 97 1/2 ...not 96 as previously reported on this blog. Look at him...he barely looks a day over 82 and 3/4.

I did manage to get some knitting done. I finished the front of the Nothing But a T-Shirt.

And did a tiny bit of work on the Synesthesia sock.

Look! It has a heel and then some. I'm so glad to have this back on the needles as it gives me something to do on the bus.

Well, it is summer here at the U of M. That means there are college students waiting on every corner to ask me if I "have a minute" for the environment, or clean air, or what have you. The problem is, they don't really want a minute...they want money. Today I jumped over some shrubbery in a skirt (I was in the skirt, not the shrubbery) just to avoid them. I always feel like such a heel saying "no". I care about those things. I really do. But I already donate through payroll deduction to causes I believe in. I just want to be able to walk across campus in peace!
There are great things about working on campus in the summer though. Right now, a salsa band is playing on Northrup Plaza as part of the summer concert series. I can hear it from here in my cube, and spent the first part of my lunch out there soaking up some rays, watching folks dance, and generally having a nice time.
Summer...it has finally arrived!
