Happy Monday!

Look at the cool things that happen where I work! Okay, granted I do not work in this lab, but I do feel proud when I see some of the things happening here at the U of M! Go Gophers!

The sleeves of the Ribby Cardi are coming along nicely. Honestly, I find sleeve knitting only slightly more tolerable than finishing (if I wanted to sew, I would!). Oh well. It's got to get done. Gotta keep the arms warm.


My weekend was great. I had a wonderful time shopping with Gretchen and Nathan on Saturday morning. Nathan is so cute! Together we read, "Where's the Poop?" and it was funny to hear him say "Poooo....Poooo". Aw! Scatological cuteness!

That night, it was off to Zelo for a delicious dinner of Sea Bass and Ahi Tuna Spring Rolls, and then over to the State Theatre for Avenue Q. It was fun to go on a big date. :-)

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I figured, "Well, if the Republicans won't eat there, I WILL!" After work we headed to Cosetta's . As you can see...definite lack of Republicans. They were all outside on the street. I have to say, in my Ravelry t-shirt and Chacos, I felt a little out of place. This is as close as we could get to the Excel Energy Center. It looks like the city is on lockdown. I Need a New Word for "Perfect"

I just spent what can only be described as quite possibly one of the most perfect weekends of my life, thus far. I'm racking my brain trying to think of a weekend that has felt more "right" and I just can't. I think this was one of those rare life moments where everything comes together to create contentment. A perfect blend of good food, friendly strangers, physical and mental activity, and a person to travel with that makes you happy. David and I spent the weekend in Lanesboro, MN and thereabouts. We loaded up our bikes, and in my case, way too much other stuff and headed out of town. How is it that I can pack so light for a 10 day trip to Ireland, but when I head 2 hours south, I pack as though I am leaving home for an indefinite period of time?
