Bawk, Bawk, Bawk!

I went to the flower show at Dayton's...no...Marshall Field's...no...Macy's on Saturday. Interestingly, there was a large chicken there.

I'll post more pictures from the flower show throughout the week. I don't want to inundate my blog with flower photos.

Usually, when I go to Macy's, I am ignored. However, one saleswoman there paid particular attention to me, especially when I picked up this lovely Kate Spade bag. Hey, it's going to be 20% of this week...so it will only be $300! I do not look anything like a person who would spend $300 on a bag (maybe on yarn, but not a bag). It was nice of her though to pretend that I looked like someone who would spend $300 on a bag.

I did not do much (okay, I didn't do any) knitting this weekend, but my latest knitting student did complete this.

Pretty good for someone's first project, eh? I'll admit, I did the squiggles and the cast on, but that was it.

Last night I did about five loads of laundry, and Zoey the Cat kept trying to escape from my apartment. At one point, she was sitting so close to the door when I came back she got whacked when I came in. She doesn't appear any worse for the wear.

Just goes to show how bad the economy is now, huh? I bet I'll get the same line when I go shopping today, too.

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I figured, "Well, if the Republicans won't eat there, I WILL!" After work we headed to Cosetta's . As you can see...definite lack of Republicans. They were all outside on the street. I Need a New Word for "Perfect"

I just spent what can only be described as quite possibly one of the most perfect weekends of my life, thus far. I'm racking my brain trying to think of a weekend that has felt more "right" and I just can't. I think this was one of those rare life moments where everything comes together to create contentment. A perfect blend of good food, friendly strangers, physical and mental activity, and a person to travel with that makes you happy. David and I spent the weekend in Lanesboro, MN and thereabouts. We loaded up our bikes, and in my case, way too much other stuff and headed out of town. How is it that I can pack so light for a 10 day trip to Ireland, but when I head 2 hours south, I pack as though I am leaving home for an indefinite period of time?
