Well, That's A Little Dissapointing...

Look what happened.


Yes, those are my lovely, beautiful rosewood Sox Stix (and my fun little pig bag). That little one there just snapped in half in my hand this past weekend. I wanted to cry. I was knitting in to the front and back of a stitch at the time, so perhaps was using a little more pressure than usual. But it shouldn't have broke!

Not much knitting has been getting done lately. I had a little flurry of activity there with the baby gift and as usually happens I will now go in to "knitting quiet time" and regroup. Maybe I'll actually get some reading done. Frog that yellow sweater. Update information on Ravelry. Practice my Arabic dance. Play Ratchet and Clank after months away (I've missed those little guys!). Who knows? But, it may be kind of quiet here for a bit.

OK, that is just wrong!! I know that Brittany replaces their needles, maybe the same might be true of the Lantern Moon? Sorry, they are très expensive and lovely...

And this is why I don't use bamboo anymore. I broke 2 addi natural 40" circulars. And they don't replace them. So sorry this happened to you, too. Pooh! **hugs**

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I figured, "Well, if the Republicans won't eat there, I WILL!" After work we headed to Cosetta's . As you can see...definite lack of Republicans. They were all outside on the street. I Need a New Word for "Perfect"

I just spent what can only be described as quite possibly one of the most perfect weekends of my life, thus far. I'm racking my brain trying to think of a weekend that has felt more "right" and I just can't. I think this was one of those rare life moments where everything comes together to create contentment. A perfect blend of good food, friendly strangers, physical and mental activity, and a person to travel with that makes you happy. David and I spent the weekend in Lanesboro, MN and thereabouts. We loaded up our bikes, and in my case, way too much other stuff and headed out of town. How is it that I can pack so light for a 10 day trip to Ireland, but when I head 2 hours south, I pack as though I am leaving home for an indefinite period of time?
