Finally, an FO!

I finished the Thinking Dress over the weekend! I worked on it while watching random SNL sketches, a Timberwolves victory (no, that isn't a typo), and some football.

Yarn: Lion Brand CottonEase in a lilac shade
Started: November 4, 2007
Finished: December 9, 2007

Sadly, it seems pretty small to me and I do not think it will fit the girl for whom it was intended. So, I might wind up knitting another one a size larger for her, and give this to someone else.

This was an easy knit and nice for a quick project. I enjoyed doing something for a child that was NOT a hat. The CottonEase was fine, but I did get frustrated when I was picking up stitches around the back and armholes. For some reason, the yarn was really acting splitty at that point.

In the end, I couldn't resist the pull of thousands of suited Republicans in St. Paul and D and I headed downtown last night to check things out. Actually, that's a lie. What compelled me down there was my support of St. Paul business. The Pioneer Press reported yesterday on how dismal business was for some of the restaurants and shops around the convention. I figured, "Well, if the Republicans won't eat there, I WILL!" After work we headed to Cosetta's . As you can see...definite lack of Republicans. They were all outside on the street. I Need a New Word for "Perfect"

I just spent what can only be described as quite possibly one of the most perfect weekends of my life, thus far. I'm racking my brain trying to think of a weekend that has felt more "right" and I just can't. I think this was one of those rare life moments where everything comes together to create contentment. A perfect blend of good food, friendly strangers, physical and mental activity, and a person to travel with that makes you happy. David and I spent the weekend in Lanesboro, MN and thereabouts. We loaded up our bikes, and in my case, way too much other stuff and headed out of town. How is it that I can pack so light for a 10 day trip to Ireland, but when I head 2 hours south, I pack as though I am leaving home for an indefinite period of time?
